Born in Manchester, NJ Nick – also known as “Schmizz” – first discovered music by listening to his dad’s old CDs. Some of his first influences included Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne who inspired him to learn guitar. Nick met Billy Nally (a member of The Wrecks) in audio school and through that friendship received a shot to try out for the band, which he landed.

Nick has contributed to numerous songs of The Wrecks and describes his writing process as custom and unique for each project. “Sometimes songs start as a melody I had in my head, a cool beat, guitar riff, or just a weird inspiring sound I find like knives hitting a table or squashing a Red Bull can for example.” Nick enjoys finding inspiration from unexpected and out of the box sources.

As a member of The Wrecks, Nick has contributed to songs landing the #1 spot on Sirius XM’s Alt18 Countdown, top 40 alternative radio hits, and numerous features from Ones To Watch, Alternative Press, and Billboard. He has also built a reputation as a top live performer, playing guitar with The Wrecks as they supported Nothing But Thieves, New Politics, The Maine, The Hunna, and Silversun Pickups on tour.

As a writer, Nick is continuously evolving and interested in working across multiple genres. His favorite artists include Kings of Leon, Rage Against the Machine, Cage the Elephant, and Queens of Stone Age. He is inspired by new artists like Demob Happy, Dune Rats, and White Reaper. Nick is gearing up to release additional tracks with The Wrecks along with focusing on writing for other artists this coming year.
